yes i'm sure coz i've tested
froyo version 2.2.2 with UAJP7 baseband release desember 2011 for venezuela
this baseband work in my region and more stable from LUYJP9

Guys im having a problem in gps, im using asia baseband jp7, rom is cm7 by psyke. It seems it doesnt work, i already check setting and also i use gps fix but no luck. Pls help thanks

You can use any baseband, just check all type of signal reception hardware is working.

guys please help, i changed my baseband to I5500BVJJP9 i changed to jp9 coz i read previous post it says there gps works in jp9, still gps not working, im from philippines my rom is CM7 7.2

But returns an error that say Wrong Compression method for file 'MODEM_I5500XWJP4.tar.md5'

Is this file correct ?

Other curiosity thing is that on samfirmware.com I have download the I5500XWJP9, and when I Unzip it the files are all .tar.MD5 is this normal ? should I unzip the MD5 ?

No you shouldn't, you have to flash the md5 with the latest odin multidownloader.

I will check if the file is correct and than edit this post.

No there is no problem, you don't even need to data wipe for change baseband.

But I recommend to install the JP9 baseband from MadRom topic as well.
