Hi Guys!

Glad to inform you that the Galaxy 5 2.0.9 is out of beta phase and final version has been released!


Full Changelog:
- Swap support
- Deodexed (easier customization and faster)
- adb as root
- Ext4
- Recovery wipe as ext4
- App2sd automatic (partition your sdcard as 3 primary partitions: ( Partition1 as vfat, Partition 2 as Linux ext2, Partition 3 as Linux swap) or use MadTeam App2sd (install in rom)
- Support for scripts inside /system/etc/init.d/ or /data/scritps - Just place them inside
- OnDeman PowerGovernor
- APN added for 3G/2G automatic configuration
- busybox
- Prerooted, run Universal androot for rooting
- Updated Google Apps
- Gps Works Faster
- New Boot Animation

Procedures:
Odin:

App2sd:
- Root your phone using "Universal Androot", click root. Make your it says "your phone is rooted"
- Run madteam app2sd aplication
- Select the sizes your want for app2sd (aplications) and swap (virtual memory)
- click partition and wait for boot
- The device will be rooted in recovery mode, you must click "Wipe data/factory reset"
- Select yes
- Select reboot
- After the phone boots, root it again, same procedure with androot
- Run terminal Emulator and type in:

mkfs.vfat /dev/block/mmcblk0p1
reboot

1. it's very fast especially if set it to performance for the procie
2. it has a better touchscreen sensitivity
3. it consume more internal memory because the dalvik-cache wasn't move to sd card
4. mad team app2sd is back
5. no more SNS, mota already remove it

hmm..nice in 2.0.9 final..very precision touch screen..n mad etam app2sd are back !!

good job..but why you must removed extreme app2sd who move /data/data to ext4 a2sd??
it's a very important for me,bcoz i have so many apk installed on my g5..

hope you will give back /data/data to ext4 app2sd for some people like me,who have so many installed applications in our g5..

1. copy 02-app2sd to /system/etc/init.d
2. go to madteam app2sd, partition your sd card
3. in recovery mode wipe data
4. go to madteam app2sd, format it.

how about the compass? even in eclair, if we tilt phone > 90 degrees, the compass will error.

Thanks for the tweaked script, but you missed the closing "fi" for the loop.

Here's the fixed version: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Don't forget, you also need to fix permissions after copying. Do this while in recovery:
Code: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
adb shell chmod 755 /system/etc/init.d/02-app2sd
adb shell reboot recovery
That will reboot you back into recovery, where you should probably do another wipe to be safe.

Note that motafoca changed this script to the way it is in order to help fix some people's lagging problems. Using the "extreme" version may cause slowdown for you. I'm still investigating this...

Ok, some feedback:

Performance is excellent, but there are some problems.

1. Angry Birds refuses to install. I'm not sure what's causing the problem, but no other apps from the market give problems (even Angry Birds Seasons works). What happens is that the "downloading" icon pops up on the notification bar for 1 second, and disappears before the download even starts.

2. Memory consumption is much higher. On first boot, before any customization, only 111mb of internal memory is free (previous releases have 158mb free on first boot).

3. I'm not sure if this is a mistake. /data/dalvik-cache is not mounted on the sdcard - this is deliberate, which you changed to help some people's problems with extreme lagging. However, /data/data is also not mounted on the sdcard. Is this deliberate? After installing just a handful of apps, my internal memory is down to 80mb Register or Login<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' />

Some follow-up to point 2 and 3:

I modified the 02-app2sd script to mount /data/data (but not /data/dalvik-cache) on the sdcard. After a hard reset, the extreme lagging has returned. I'm going to try modifying the script to mount /data/dalvik-cache to the sdcard, but not /data/data, and see if that helps. Currently my internal memory is getting too pressured with the default config, so I need to try something! Register or Login<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />
